Applications Of Broaching

In actual production, broaching is widely used in the automotive, aerospace, and other fields. For example, keyway machining in engine blocks and the forming of turbine disk tenons rely heavily on broaching technology. Its advantages include high machining efficiency, good surface quality, and stable dimensional accuracy, making it particularly suitable for mass production. Furthermore, with the development of CNC technology, broaching has achieved greater automation and flexibility.

Keyways and Splines: Keyways and rectangular/involute splines, such as those in gears and drive shafts, ensure shape and fit accuracy and are a standard machining method for automotive gearbox and engine parts.

Various High-Precision Through Holes: These include round holes, square holes, hexagonal holes (such as wrench hexagonal holes), and irregularly shaped through holes, typically such as engine connecting rod holes, cylinder block holes, and high-precision guide holes. The consistency is far superior to other machining methods.

Special Internal Formed Surfaces: Complex cross-sections, such as those in internal gears and turbine disk tenons, are difficult to achieve efficiently using other machining methods; broaching can achieve these in a single step while ensuring accuracy.
