Performance Highlights

Tail stock under 50mm

A 500mm A-axis travel module lets the cutting head bridge across the front chuck and complete the final cut between front and rear chucks. Result: residual tail drops from the industry norm of 150mm+ to 50mm or less. On a typical 8-hour run processing 6m lengths of φ60×3mm carbon steel tube, that gives you one or two extra good parts off every length.

Fast traverse, fast acceleration

100m/min traverse speed and 1.2G acceleration. On complex parts with 5 to 8 cutting features per piece, fast positioning shaves over 30% off non-cutting travel time. Two cells running in parallel give us flexibility - split high-volume orders across both, or dedicate one cell to prototypes while the other runs production.

180 RPM chuck speed – all circumferential features, one setup

Six evenly spaced features around a 360° circumference index in roughly half the time of a 90 RPM chuck. All features cut in a single setup - no angular errors from re-chucking, no drift part-to-part.

Dual-cell configuration – throughput and uptime

Two cells run independently, backing each other up. If one goes down for maintenance, the other keeps production moving. No single-point failures. Commit one cell to a long run while the other handles quick-turn jobs, or gang them up on a single large order when the schedule demands it. In JIT delivery, that's not a nice-to-have - it's table stakes.

 

 

Quality Control

 

Raw material check

Every tube lot is verified against material certs for grade, cross-section, and surface condition. Straightness and cleanliness are checked before loading - contamination or bowing gets caught before it hits the machine.

In-process monitoring

Laser power, focus position, gas pressure, and cutting speed are tracked continuously against established process windows for each material–wall thickness–section profile combination. ±0.05mm positioning accuracy, combined with live monitoring, ensures every cut lands within nominal dimension. Any axis drift beyond threshold triggers an automatic alarm and machine stop.

First-article inspection

At the start of every run, the first piece is checked for:

Profile dimensions and hole locations

End squareness and cut-edge condition (dross, HAZ depth)

Angular positioning of circumferential features

No approval, no green light. First-article data is recorded before the run goes to full production.

In-line checks

On high-volume runs, we sample at set intervals. OD, wall thickness, and cut squareness are measured with calibrated tools. Tube end profiles are matched back to CAD. Inspections logged every 2 hours.

Final lot release

Every lot gets a full dimensional check on all customer-specified critical characteristics. Shipments go out with a complete inspection package - CMM data included - and full traceability back to raw material heat numbers and production dates.
