Basic Characteristics Of Vertical Machining Centers For Milling Parts

Vertical machining centers are machining centers where the spindle axis is perpendicular to the worktable. They are mainly suitable for machining complex parts such as plates, discs, molds, and small shells. These machines typically have at least three-axis two-linkage functionality, generally achieving three-axis three-linkage, and some models can even perform five-axis or six-axis control, greatly expanding the machining range.

The equipment adopts a high-rigidity hardened rail structure design and is equipped with an automatic tool changer and tool magazine. It features automatic tool changing, automatically changing the tool used during machining. Multiple machining operations, such as drilling, milling, tapping, and threading, can be quickly performed with a single workpiece clamping, significantly improving production efficiency.

Vertical machining centers are characterized by simple structure, small footprint, and relatively low price. Workpiece clamping and positioning are convenient, the tool movement trajectory is easy to observe, and program debugging, inspection, and measurement are convenient, allowing for timely detection of problems and shutdown for repair or modification. Cooling conditions are easily established, and cutting fluid can directly reach the tool and machined surface.
